Dance Expressions

Dance Policies
  • Come to class with a positive attitude, leave the negative attitude at the door.
  • Have respect for your teacher. Students are on our time and we want to use our dance hours effectively.
  • Socializing can be done before and after class… not during class. No gossiping or making own groups. This is disruptive and disrespectful towards the teacher and other students. We should all work in unison towards a common goal.
  • Be kind and courteous to your fellow dancers at all times.
  • Cell phones should be turned off or on mute during class.
  • Dancers should arrive on time.
  • No parents or siblings in the dance room. This can be extremely distracting. There is a window where you can observe from the lobby.
  • No food or drink in the dance room besides water. No snacking during class time.
  • Arrive in clean clothes and properly dressed. Always remember deodorant.
  • Keep hands off the mirrors.
  • Always practice at home and be prepared for class even if absent the week prior.
  • If you are absent it is your responsibility to find a dance buddy and catch up on what you have missed.
  • Always use strong arms, stretched feet, proper body alignment, and 100% of your energies during class.
  • Respect our art, our studio, our teachers, and our fellow dancers.
And remember to smile, learn, and have fun in each class!
A few notes to the parents…
  • Please try to get your child to class on a regular basis. When working as a team attendance is extremely important. This mainly applies to the 3rd grade and up students. When dancers in those classes miss frequently, spacing and formations become very difficult to work on. The entire team must redo spacing and it is very unfair to those who attend regularly.
  • Make sure you notify the teacher in case of an absence.
  • Encourage practice at home.
  • If you wish to speak to the teacher, she is obligated to start the next class on time. She will gladly e-mail or give you a call at the end of the day if it is not too late.
  • Check e-mails and the website for updates.
  • Please go over the policies with your children to help them understand why it is important for everyone to follow the rules.
  • Please remember we value you and your children and want to thank you for choosing us for your children’s dance education.
Thank you so much for your support.
We are looking forward to a wonderful dance year!
Lets work together and follow these simple rules to have more enjoyable and productive classes.
